Service Options
Low Cost Option (LCO)
Templates and primers must be provided together in a single tube at the concentrations specified in our sample submission guidelines.
Standard
Templates and primers must be submitted in separate tubes, with concentrations specified on the order form. Our technologists will use these values to optimize sequencing reactions.
Premium
Templates and primers must be submitted in separate tubes. A subset of templates and primers will be assessed via agarose gel and nanodrop to determine concentrations and optimize sequencing reactions.
Turnaround Times
Turnaround times are dependent on sample receipt at the Wheeling, IL laboratory by 12:00 pm (CST) and same day pickup/delivery to the Germantown, MD laboratory. We strongly recommend shipping samples via an ACGT drop box or through FedEx to ensure timely delivery. Please note that orders left in ACGT drop boxes that ship to Wheeling will be sent overnight for delivery the following morning.

Sequencing Difficult Samples
Our technologists have extensive experience with sequencing samples containing GC/AT-rich content, secondary structures, repetitive sequences, and dirty DNA. These types of templates require different protocols for successful sequencing. You may select either our High-GC or Hairpin protocol per reaction when placing an order online.
These alternate protocols are available at an additional charge per reaction, and we do not guarantee Same Day turnaround times for reactions requiring alternate protocols.
High GC Protocol
For sequences with high GC (>60%) content across the template or concentrated in a particular region
Hairpin Protocol
For sequences with tendencies to form hairpins or other secondary structures.
Purification
Unpurified PCR products will purified prior to sequencing with the Premium service.
If the PCR contains multiple bands, gel purification of the desired size can also be performed upon request.
